An adventure into the exploration of the senses on a blind-folded jungle obstacle course, designed for early years to KS2
Develop trust and communication on the Nightline
A Nightline obstacle course is a team-building activity designed to challenge participants to navigate a series of obstacles while blindfolded. The Nightline itself is a rope which is used to guide participants through the course. The experience emphasises trust, communication, and cooperation, as team members must help each other through the obstacles they encounter along the way.

What to Expect from the Nightline
An exploration of the senses with the aim of finding the end of the Nightline. The session will start with some games to familiarise the participants with the equipment and, in particular, wearing the blindfold goggles. The instructor then gives the group a brief on how to stay safe on the Nightline before the team decides who is going to be their brave leader and be the first to encounter the jungle obstacles. After being led blindfolded to the Nightline, the participants will find the rope and then follow it wherever it leads. It’s great fun going over, under, through and between the obstacles and thinking what they might be. It’s just as much fun for the on-looking adults supervising the group.
Once the group have found the end of the Nightline, they can remove the blindfolds and start the debrief on what has just been experienced. The children will then have the opportunity to revisit the course without the use of the blindfolds to discover what all the obstacles were.
For younger children, the Nightline is presented with a Jungle theme to spark their imagination and enrich their learning. Often, with very young children, initially, they will set off without blindfolds to grow their confidence.
