What to Expect from a Fire Lighting Session
Fire lighting is more than just creating a flame. During this session, you’ll learn the science behind fire and the techniques that give you the best chance of success.
Using minimal equipment and natural fuel foraged from the surrounding woodland, your group will work together to ignite a fire. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the safe and effective use of flint and steel to create that all-important spark. The moment your fire bursts into life brings an incredible sense of achievement!
We like to emphasise that fire is a tool, not a toy! The fire lighting session will be tailored to the aims and objectives of the group. This could be purely the challenge to light a fire or go on to enjoy cooking a tasty treat over the fire. For birthday parties, we offer toasted marshmallows, and for outdoor education visits or team-building programmes, Bannock bread is a favourite.
